Terms

The rules of the road — short and unsurprising.

Effective May 9, 2026. By using Moggers you agree to the terms below.

1. Not medical advice

Moggers publishes summaries of peer-reviewed research and reader discussion of that research. Briefs are written for a general audience and are not medical advice, not a substitute for clinical judgment, and not a recommendation to start, stop, or change a treatment. If you are weighing a medical decision, talk to a clinician who knows your history.

We strive for accuracy, but studies are revised, retracted, and reinterpreted. We may update or correct briefs without notice. Use the linked source as the authoritative reference, not our summary of it.

2. Permitted use

You may read, link to, share, and quote briefs for personal, educational, and journalistic purposes, including with attribution to moggers.org. You may not republish whole briefs, scrape the site programmatically at scale, or train machine-learning models on its contents without prior written permission.

3. Accounts

Posting in the forum requires an account, which you create by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping that Google account secure. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate another person.

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, send spam, harass other readers, or pose a security risk to the site.

4. Forum conduct

When posting, please:

  • Be civil. Argue with the evidence, not the person.
  • Cite sources when you make a factual claim.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest (you sell the supplement, you fund the trial, etc.).
  • Don’t recommend specific doses or off-label protocols to other readers.
  • Don’t post other people’s private information, copyrighted text in bulk, or affiliate links.

We may edit, hide, or remove posts that don’t meet this bar. We’d rather warn than ban, but we’ll do either.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Moggers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and excerpt your post on the site and in our email digest, with attribution. You can ask us to remove a specific post at any time.

You confirm that anything you post is yours to share — you wrote it, or you have permission to use it.

6. Email subscriptions

If you subscribe, we’ll send you new study briefs and the occasional editorial note. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We don’t sell or rent the list, and we don’t cross-promote third parties.

7. Third-party links

Briefs link to journals, preprint servers, trial registries, and other publications. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Read their terms before relying on them.

8. Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moggers and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its contents. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

10. Changes

If we change these terms materially, we’ll update the date at the top and notify subscribers in the next email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Contact

Questions, takedown requests, and press enquiries: [email protected].
